Making — can be generative and experimental, investigative and analytical, or be descriptive and communicate intent. Through it we explore relationships between people, things, and spaces; without it, we would lack the means of creating places at all. The diversity of responses in this issue make a compelling argument for the relevance of making, not only to underpin practice. Also, to forge connections with others, induce critical reflection, and encourage speculation. What strikes us about these responses is the extraordinary capacity of making to talk about things beyond the made, and to bring about corresponding acceleration in pedagogical and professional development.

Playing with different materials in the workshop have been a main exploration I've went through during my study in London. It allows me to explore with my own spontaneous creativity without any boundaries. I realized making an material is not just an object, it also represents my design research and study such as the site, existing elements, surrounding, the past and present. It is a form of another way of design experimenting and thinking.

IE VELOCITY AWARDS UK 2020

MOST RESOLVED MATERIAL INNOVATION

IE Velocity 2020 is a virtual design festival that aims to connect the capabilities of our students with practitioners and live projects and explore different ways to interact and share the power of our subject. This award is an additional awards for the final year student 2020 in UK by the Interior Educators. I've been nominated by my lecturer for the Jesmonite Making, which is a main materiality I've been exploring throughout my final year and major project.

Jesmonite, is very popular for casting and molding currently. It had been increasing used in interior design and sculpture recently. It was a sustainable and easy to use material to explore with, which is somehow similar to plaster making.
